वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-62, verse-47

तथैवाप्यपरे तेषां कपीनामसिभिः शितैः ।
प्रवीरानभितो जघ्नुर्घोररूपा निशाचराः ॥४७॥
47. tathaivāpyapare teṣāṃ kapīnāmasibhiḥ śitaiḥ ,
pravīrānabhito jaghnurghorarūpā niśācarāḥ.
47. tathā eva api apare teṣām kapīnām asibhiḥ śitaiḥ
pravīrān abhitaḥ jaghnuḥ ghorarūpāḥ niśācarāḥ
47. tathā eva api ghorarūpāḥ apare niśācarāḥ teṣām
kapīnām śitaiḥ asibhiḥ pravīrān abhitaḥ jaghnuḥ
47. In the same way, other dreadful Rākṣasas (night-wanderers), using sharp swords, struck down the valiant heroes among those monkeys on all sides.
