वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-62, verse-11

तेषां गृहसहस्राणि तदा लङ्कानिवासिनाम् ।
अदहत् पावकस्तत्र जज्वाल च पुनः पुनः ॥११॥
11. teṣāṃ gṛhasahasrāṇi tadā laṅkānivāsinām ,
adahat pāvakastatra jajvāla ca punaḥ punaḥ.

adahat pāvakaḥ tatra jajvāla ca punaḥ punaḥ
11. tadā pāvakaḥ tatra laṅkā-nivāsinām teṣām gṛha-sahasrāṇi adahat,

11. Then, the fire burned thousands of houses belonging to those inhabitants of Lanka, and blazed there repeatedly.
