वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-95, verse-35

विज्ञाय तुमुलं शब्दं त्रस्ता भरतसैनिकाः ।
अब्रुवंश्चापि रामेण भरतः संगतो ध्रुवम् ।
तेषामेव महाञ् शब्दः शोचतां पितरं मृतम् ॥३५॥
35. vijñāya tumulaṃ śabdaṃ trastā bharatasainikāḥ ,
abruvaṃścāpi rāmeṇa bharataḥ saṃgato dhruvam ,
teṣāmeva mahāñ śabdaḥ śocatāṃ pitaraṃ mṛtam.

35. Upon recognizing the tumultuous sound, Bharata's frightened soldiers said, "Surely Bharata has met Rama!" However, it was truly the great sound of those very ones (Rama and his companions) mourning their deceased father.
