महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-162, verse-13

उद्यतप्रतिपिष्टानां खड्गानां वीरबाहुभिः ।
स एव शब्दस्तद्रूपो वाससां निज्यतामिव ॥१३॥
13. udyatapratipiṣṭānāṁ khaḍgānāṁ vīrabāhubhiḥ ,
sa eva śabdastadrūpo vāsasāṁ nijyatāmiva.

saḥ eva śabdaḥ tadrūpaḥ vāsasām nijyatām iva

13. The very sound produced by swords, raised and clashed by heroic arms, was identical to the sound of clothes being washed.
