महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-162, verse-10

भूमावश्रूयत महांस्तदासीत्कृपणं महत् ।
पततां पतितानां च पत्त्यश्वरथहस्तिनाम् ॥१०॥
10. bhūmāvaśrūyata mahāṁstadāsītkṛpaṇaṁ mahat ,
patatāṁ patitānāṁ ca pattyaśvarathahastinām.

10. On the ground, a great and lamentable sound was heard; then there was a great and pitiful sound from the foot-soldiers, horses, chariots, and elephants who were falling and had fallen.
