महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-96, verse-27

बहवश्च नरा राजंस्तस्य नादेन भीषिताः ।
प्रियान्प्राणान्परित्यज्य निपेतुर्धरणीतले ॥२७॥
27. bahavaśca narā rājaṁstasya nādena bhīṣitāḥ ,
priyānprāṇānparityajya nipeturdharaṇītale.

priyān prāṇān pari-tyajya ni-petuḥ dharaṇī-tala

27. And O king, many men, terrified by his (Ghaṭotkaca's) roar, abandoned their dear lives and fell upon the ground.
