महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-40, verse-16

तत्रैवं सति कर्तारमात्मानं केवलं तु यः ।
पश्यत्यकृतबुद्धित्वान्न स पश्यति दुर्मतिः ॥१६॥
16. tatraivaṁ sati kartāramātmānaṁ kevalaṁ tu yaḥ ,
paśyatyakṛtabuddhitvānna sa paśyati durmatiḥ.
16. tatra evam sati kartāram ātmānam kevalam tu yaḥ
paśyati akṛtabuddhitvāt na sa paśyati durmatiḥ
16. tatra evam sati yaḥ akṛtabuddhitvāt ātmānam
kevalam kartāram paśyati sa durmatiḥ tu na paśyati
16. Yet, this being the case, whoever perceives the self (ātman) as solely the doer (kartā), due to an undeveloped understanding, that misguided person (durmatiḥ) truly does not see.
