महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-200, verse-33

जातिमृत्युजरादुःखैः सततं समभिद्रुतः ।
संसारे पच्यमानश्च दोषैरात्मकृतैर्नरः ॥३३॥
33. jātimṛtyujarāduḥkhaiḥ satataṁ samabhidrutaḥ ,
saṁsāre pacyamānaśca doṣairātmakṛtairnaraḥ.
33. jātimṛtyujarāduḥkhaiḥ satataṃ samabhidrutaḥ
saṃsāre pacyamānaḥ ca doṣaiḥ ātmakṛtaiḥ naraḥ
33. A human being (naraḥ) is constantly afflicted by the sufferings of birth, death, and old age, and is tormented in the cycle of transmigration (saṃsāra) by the faults he himself has created.
