उवाच च महासर्पं कामया ब्रूहि पन्नग ।
कस्त्वं भो भुजगश्रेष्ठ किं मया च करिष्यसि ॥२॥

2. uvāca ca mahāsarpaṁ kāmayā brūhi pannaga ,
kastvaṁ bho bhujagaśreṣṭha kiṁ mayā ca kariṣyasi.

And he said to the great serpent: "Speak as you wish, O serpent (pannaga)! Who are you, O best of serpents (bhujagaśreṣṭha)? And what will you do with me?"
