महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-71, verse-32

ततो दुर्योधनः कर्णः शकुनिश्चापि सौबलः ।
द्रोणं द्वीपममन्यन्त राज्यं चास्मै न्यवेदयन् ॥३२॥
32. tato duryodhanaḥ karṇaḥ śakuniścāpi saubalaḥ ,
droṇaṁ dvīpamamanyanta rājyaṁ cāsmai nyavedayan.
32. tataḥ duryodhanaḥ karṇaḥ śakuniḥ ca api saubalaḥ
droṇam dvīpam amanyanta rājyam ca asmai nyavedayan
32. Then Duryodhana, Karṇa, and also Śakuni, the son of Subala, regarded Droṇa as their refuge (dvīpa) and offered the kingdom to him.
