महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-19, verse-50

कार्यवन्तो गृहानेत्य शत्रुतो नार्हणां वयम् ।
प्रतिगृह्णीम तद्विद्धि एतन्नः शाश्वतं व्रतम् ॥५०॥

50. kāryavanto gṛhānetya śatruto nārhaṇāṁ vayam ,
pratigṛhṇīma tadviddhi etannaḥ śāśvataṁ vratam.

50. kāryavantaḥ gṛhān etya śatrutaḥ na arhaṇām vayam
pratigṛhṇīma tat viddhi etat naḥ śāśvatam vratam

50. We do not accept hospitality or honor from an enemy, even if they come to our homes with some purpose. Understand this; it is our eternal vow (vrata).
