महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-39, verse-36

स पपात विनिर्दग्धस्तेजसा ब्रह्मवादिनाम् ।
महेन्द्राशनिनिर्दग्धः पादपोऽङ्कुरवानिव ॥३६॥
36. sa papāta vinirdagdhastejasā brahmavādinām ,
mahendrāśaninirdagdhaḥ pādapo'ṅkuravāniva.

36. He fell, completely consumed by the spiritual power (tejas) of those who spoke of Brahman, just like a tree, along with its sprouts, is utterly incinerated by the lightning of Mahendra (Indra).
