महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-28, verse-1

वैशंपायन उवाच ।
ज्ञातिशोकाभितप्तस्य प्राणानभ्युत्सिसृक्षतः ।
ज्येष्ठस्य पाण्डुपुत्रस्य व्यासः शोकमपानुदत् ॥१॥
1. vaiśaṁpāyana uvāca ,
jñātiśokābhitaptasya prāṇānabhyutsisṛkṣataḥ ,
jyeṣṭhasya pāṇḍuputrasya vyāsaḥ śokamapānudat.

1. Vaiśampāyana said: Vyāsa dispelled the grief of the eldest son of Pāṇḍu (Yudhiṣṭhira), who was tormented by sorrow for his kinsmen and desired to give up his life (prāṇāḥ).
