महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-59, verse-26

शरभः शलभश्चैव सूर्याचन्द्रमसौ तथा ।
इति ख्याता दनोर्वंशे दानवाः परिकीर्तिताः ।
अन्यौ तु खलु देवानां सूर्याचन्द्रमसौ स्मृतौ ॥२६॥
26. śarabhaḥ śalabhaścaiva sūryācandramasau tathā ,
iti khyātā danorvaṁśe dānavāḥ parikīrtitāḥ ,
anyau tu khalu devānāṁ sūryācandramasau smṛtau.

vaṁśe dānavāḥ parikīrtitāḥ anyau tu

26. Śarabha, Śalabha, and indeed Sūrya and Candramas, are thus named. These famous Danavas of Danu's lineage are thus enumerated. However, Sūrya and Candramas are indeed remembered as belonging to the gods.
