योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-5, chapter-31, verse-40

अविष्णुः पूजयन्विष्णुं न पूजाफलभाग्भवेत् ।
विष्णुर्भूत्वा यजेद्विष्णुमयं विष्णुरहं स्थितः ॥ ४० ॥
aviṣṇuḥ pūjayanviṣṇuṃ na pūjāphalabhāgbhavet ,
viṣṇurbhūtvā yajedviṣṇumayaṃ viṣṇurahaṃ sthitaḥ 40
40. aviṣṇuḥ pūjayan viṣṇuṃ na pūjāphalabhāg bhavet |
viṣṇuḥ bhūtvā yajet viṣṇum ayam viṣṇuḥ aham sthitaḥ
40. aviṣṇuḥ viṣṇuṃ pūjayan pūjāphalabhāg na bhavet
viṣṇuḥ bhūtvā viṣṇum yajet ayam aham viṣṇuḥ sthitaḥ
40. One who is not Viṣṇu, by worshipping Viṣṇu, does not become a partaker of the fruit of worship. Having become Viṣṇu, one should worship Viṣṇu. I am this Viṣṇu, thus established.
