योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-4, chapter-21, verse-52

बालानां मध्यमे काले छाया वैतालिकी यथा ।
कल्पनावशतो जन्तोर्भावाभावशुभाशुभाः ॥ ५२ ॥
bālānāṃ madhyame kāle chāyā vaitālikī yathā ,
kalpanāvaśato jantorbhāvābhāvaśubhāśubhāḥ 52
52. bālānām madhyame kāle chāyā vaitālikī yathā |
kalpanāvaśataḥ jantoḥ bhāvābhāvaśubhāśubhāḥ || 52 ||
52. yathā bālānām madhyame kāle vaitālikī chāyā (asti),
(tathā) jantoḥ kalpanāvaśataḥ bhāvābhāvaśubhāśubhāḥ (bhavanti)
52. Just as an illusory shadow appears for children in the middle of the day, so too, for a living being, existence and non-existence, good and bad, arise due to the influence of imagination.
