योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-16, verse-29

अद्यैवारभ्यैतदर्थ देवीं ज्ञप्तिं सरस्वतीम् ।
जपोपवासनियमैरातोषं पूजयाम्यहम् ॥ २९ ॥
adyaivārabhyaitadartha devīṃ jñaptiṃ sarasvatīm ,
japopavāsaniyamairātoṣaṃ pūjayāmyaham 29
29. adya eva ārabhya etadartham devīm jñaptim sarasvatīm
japa-upavāsa-niyamaiḥ ātoṣam pūjayāmi aham
29. aham adya eva etadartham ārabhya devīm jñaptim
sarasvatīm japa-upavāsa-niyamaiḥ ātoṣam pūjayāmi
29. Beginning from today, for this purpose, I shall worship the goddess of knowledge, Sarasvatī, with vows of chanting (japa) and fasting (upavāsa) until she is completely satisfied.
