योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-10, verse-39

हा हतोऽहमनाथोऽहमित्याक्रन्दपरोऽपि सन् ।
न जनो याति वैराग्यं चित्रमित्येव वक्त्यसौ ॥ ३९ ॥
hā hato'hamanātho'hamityākrandaparo'pi san ,
na jano yāti vairāgyaṃ citramityeva vaktyasau 39
39. hā hataḥ aham anāthaḥ aham iti ākrandaparaḥ api san
na janaḥ yāti vairāgyam citram iti eva vakti asau
39. Even when a person is deeply absorbed in lamentation, crying out, "Alas, I am ruined! Alas, I am helpless!", they do not attain dispassion (vairāgya). Instead, they merely say, "This is a wonder!"
