किं संपदा किं विपदा किं गेहेन किमिङ्गितैः ।
सर्वमेवासदित्युक्त्वा तूष्णीमेकोऽवतिष्ठते ॥ १८ ॥

18. kim sampadā kim vipadā kim gehena kim iṅgitaiḥ
sarvam eva asat iti uktvā tūṣṇīm ekaḥ avatiṣṭhate

18. 'What is the use of prosperity? What is the use of misfortune? What is the use of a home? What is the use of intentions?' Having said, 'everything is indeed unreal (asat),' he remains silent and alone.
