वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-4, chapter-11, verse-10

ततः समुद्रो धर्मात्मा समुत्थाय महाबलः ।
अब्रवीद्वचनं राजन्नसुरं कालचोदितम् ॥१०॥
10. tataḥ samudro dharmātmā samutthāya mahābalaḥ ,
abravīdvacanaṃ rājannasuraṃ kālacoditam.

10. Then the ocean, whose intrinsic nature (dharma) was righteousness and who possessed great strength, having risen, spoke these words to the demon, O King, who was impelled by fate.
