वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-60, verse-39

मां प्राप्य हि गुणो दोषः संवृत्तः पश्य लक्ष्मण ।
अद्यैव सर्वभूतानां रक्षसामभवाय च ।
संहृत्यैव शशिज्योत्स्नां महान् सूर्य इवोदितः ॥३९॥
39. māṃ prāpya hi guṇo doṣaḥ saṃvṛttaḥ paśya lakṣmaṇa ,
adyaiva sarvabhūtānāṃ rakṣasāmabhavāya ca ,
saṃhṛtyaiva śaśijyotsnāṃ mahān sūrya ivoditaḥ.
39. mām prāpya hi guṇaḥ doṣaḥ saṃvṛttaḥ
paśya lakṣmaṇa | adya eva sarvabhūtānām
rakṣasām abhavāya ca | saṃhṛtya eva

39. Behold, Lakshmana, indeed, upon attaining me, virtue (guṇa) has become a fault (doṣa). Today itself, for the destruction of all beings and the Rākṣasas, a great sun has risen, as if withdrawing the moon's light.
