मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-123, verse-39

परश्वश्च महाभाग स्नातुं गङ्गाह्रदं गता ।
अवतीर्णा विकृष्टास्मि वृद्धनागेन केनचित् ॥३९॥
39. paraśvaśca mahābhāga snātuṃ gaṅgāhradaṃ gatā .
avatīrṇā vikṛṣṭāsmi vṛddhanāgena kenacit.
39. paraśvaḥ ca mahābhāga snātum gaṅgāhradam gatā
avatīrṇā vikṛṣṭā asmi vṛddhanāgena kenacit
39. O greatly fortunate one, the day before yesterday I went to bathe in the Gaṅgā lake. Having descended (into the water), I was dragged by some old nāga.
