मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
इत्युच्चार्य ययुर्देवाः करन्धमसुतं द्विज ।
सोऽप्याह तां तदा पत्नी कथ्यतां भीरु किन्त्विदम् ॥३४॥

34. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
ityuccārya yayurdevāḥ karandhamasutaṃ dvija .
so'pyāha tāṃ tadā patnī kathyatāṃ bhīru kintvidam.

mārkaṇḍeya uvāca iti uccārya yayuḥ devāḥ karandhamasutam
dvija saḥ api āha tām tadā patnī kathyatām bhīru kim tu idam

Mārkaṇḍeya said: "Having spoken thus, the gods departed to the son of Karandhama, O Brahmin. He then asked his wife, 'O timid one, please tell me, what is this?'"
