मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-114, verse-42

राजोवाच ।
ज्येष्ठो राजा यथा प्रीत्या भजतेऽस्मान्सुतानिव ।
कथं तस्य करिष्यामि ममत्वं जगतीगतम् ॥४२॥
42. rājovāca .
jyeṣṭho rājā yathā prītyā bhajate'smānsutāniva .
kathaṃ tasya kariṣyāmi mamatvaṃ jagatīgatam.
42. rājā uvāca jyeṣṭhaḥ rājā yathā prītyā bhajate asmān
sutān iva katham tasya kariṣyāmi mamatvam jagatīgatam
42. The king said: 'How can I develop a sense of possessiveness (mamatva) for this kingdom, when the elder king treats us with such affection, just like his own sons?'
