राजोवाच ।
ज्येष्ठो भ्राता महीपालो वयं तस्यानुजा यतः ।
ततः स भुङ्क्ते पृथिवीं वयं चाल्पवसुन्धराम् ॥३८॥

jyeṣṭho bhrātā mahīpālo vayaṃ tasyānujā yataḥ .
tataḥ sa bhuṅkte pṛthivīṃ vayaṃ cālpavasundharām.

38.
The king said: 'Since the elder brother is the ruler of the earth, and we are his younger siblings, he enjoys (rules) the entire earth, while we rule only a small portion of land.'
