मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-114, verse-40

विश्ववेद्युवाच ।
एवमेतद्भवत्वत्र यद्येका वसुधा नृप ।
तां त्वमेवाभिपद्यस्व ज्येष्ठः शास्तु यथा भवान् ॥४०॥
40. viśvavedyuvāca .
evametadbhavatvatra yadyekā vasudhā nṛpa .
tāṃ tvamevābhipadyasva jyeṣṭhaḥ śāstu yathā bhavān.
40. viśvavedyaḥ uvāca evam etat bhavatu atra yadi ekā vasudhā
nṛpa tām tvam eva abhipadyasva jyeṣṭhaḥ śāstu yathā bhavān
40. Viśvavedya said: 'So be it. If the earth is indeed one, O King, then you yourself should take possession of it. Let the eldest rule, as you are (the eldest).'
