महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-50, verse-9

तां दिव्यवपुषं दृष्ट्वा तस्यर्षेर्भावितात्मनः ।
रेतः स्कन्नं सरस्वत्यां तत्सा जग्राह निम्नगा ॥९॥
9. tāṁ divyavapuṣaṁ dṛṣṭvā tasyarṣerbhāvitātmanaḥ ,
retaḥ skannaṁ sarasvatyāṁ tatsā jagrāha nimnagā.
9. tām divyavapuṣam dṛṣṭvā tasya ṛṣeḥ bhāvitātmanaḥ
retaḥ skannam sarasvatyām tat sā jagrāha nimnagā
9. tām divyavapuṣam dṛṣṭvā bhāvitātmanaḥ tasya ṛṣeḥ retaḥ sarasvatyām skannam.
sā nimnagā tat jagrāha.
9. Having seen that divine-bodied Apsaras, the semen (retas) of that sage, whose self (ātman) was cultivated, fell into the Sarasvati. The river (nimnagā) itself then took that.
