महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-50, verse-44

अस्मानध्यापयस्वेति तानुवाच ततो मुनिः ।
शिष्यत्वमुपगच्छध्वं विधिवद्भो ममेत्युत ॥४४॥
44. asmānadhyāpayasveti tānuvāca tato muniḥ ,
śiṣyatvamupagacchadhvaṁ vidhivadbho mametyuta.
44. asmān adhyāpayasva iti tān uvāca tataḥ muniḥ |
śiṣyatvam upagacchadhvam vidhivat bho mama iti uta
44. iti 'asmān adhyāpayasva' tataḥ muniḥ tān uvāca (sa uvāca) 'bho,
vidhivat mama śiṣyatvam upagacchadhvam' iti uta
44. 'Teach us!' — thus the sage then said to them, 'O sirs, become my disciples (śiṣyatvam) according to the prescribed rites.'
