महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-1, verse-41

तस्मिंस्तु निहते शूरे सत्यसंधे महौजसि ।
त्वत्सुताः कर्णमस्मार्षुस्तर्तुकामा इव प्लवम् ॥४१॥
41. tasmiṁstu nihate śūre satyasaṁdhe mahaujasi ,
tvatsutāḥ karṇamasmārṣustartukāmā iva plavam.
41. tasmin tu nihate śūre satya-saṃdhe mahā-ojasi
tvat-sutāḥ karṇam asmārṣuḥ tartu-kāmāḥ iva plavam
41. tu tasmin śūre satya-saṃdhe mahā-ojasi nihate
tvat-sutāḥ tartu-kāmāḥ plavam iva karṇam asmārṣuḥ
41. But when that hero, true to his vow and of great energy, was slain, your sons remembered Karna, just as those desiring to cross (a body of water) remember a boat.
