पाताल इव मज्जन्तो हीना देवव्रतेन ते ।
कर्णं हि कुरवोऽस्मार्षुः स हि देवव्रतोपमः ॥३०॥

In that army, frightened kings and soldiers of various kinds, sinking as if into the netherworld, and bereft of Devavrata (Bhīṣma), indeed, those Kurus remembered Karṇa, for he was indeed like Devavrata (Bhīṣma).
