महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-141, verse-1

संजय उवाच ।
केशवस्य तु तद्वाक्यं कर्णः श्रुत्वा हितं शुभम् ।
अब्रवीदभिसंपूज्य कृष्णं मधुनिषूदनम् ।
जानन्मां किं महाबाहो संमोहयितुमिच्छसि ॥१॥
1. saṁjaya uvāca ,
keśavasya tu tadvākyaṁ karṇaḥ śrutvā hitaṁ śubham ,
abravīdabhisaṁpūjya kṛṣṇaṁ madhuniṣūdanam ,
jānanmāṁ kiṁ mahābāho saṁmohayitumicchasi.
1. saṃjaya uvāca | keśavasya tu tat vākyam
karṇaḥ śrutvā hitam śubham | abravīt
abhipūjya kṛṣṇam madhuniṣūdanam | jānan
mām kim mahābāho saṃmohayitum icchasi

1. Sanjaya said: But Karna, having heard that beneficial and auspicious statement of Keśava, and having duly honored Kṛṣṇa, the slayer of Madhu, said: 'O mighty-armed one, knowing me, why do you wish to delude me?'
