महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-23, verse-23

न शत्रुरवमन्तव्यो दुर्बलोऽपि बलीयसा ।
योऽपि स्यात्पीठगः कश्चित्किं पुनः समरे स्थितः ॥२३॥
23. na śatruravamantavyo durbalo'pi balīyasā ,
yo'pi syātpīṭhagaḥ kaścitkiṁ punaḥ samare sthitaḥ.

api syāt pīṭhagaḥ kaścit kim punaḥ samare sthitaḥ
23. A stronger person should not despise an enemy, even if that enemy is weak. If one should not underestimate even someone who is helpless (like one confined to a seat), then how much more so an enemy standing ready in battle?
