Destiny (daiva) removes one from wrong paths, and there is no mastery over it. Destiny itself comes about as a result of excellent action (karma) performed as if for a preceptor (guru). Nevertheless, human effort (puruṣakāra), accumulated persistently, guides an unimpeded and undaunted destiny (daiva) according to its own will.
