विपुलमपि धनौघं प्राप्य भोगान्स्त्रियो वा पुरुष इह न शक्तः कर्महीनोऽपि भोक्तुम् ।
सुनिहितमपि चार्थं दैवतै रक्ष्यमाणं व्ययगुणमपि साधुं कर्मणा संश्रयन्ते ॥४५॥

45.
Even after acquiring abundant wealth, pleasures, or women, a person in this world, if devoid of supporting action (karma), is unable to enjoy them. Furthermore, even well-preserved wealth, though protected by deities, is acquired and utilized through one's (karma) by a person, even a virtuous one who is prone to spending.
