महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-44, verse-33

दास्यामि भवते कन्यामिति पूर्वं नभाषितम् ।
ये चैवाहुर्ये च नाहुर्ये चावश्यं वदन्त्युत ॥३३॥
33. dāsyāmi bhavate kanyāmiti pūrvaṁ nabhāṣitam ,
ye caivāhurye ca nāhurye cāvaśyaṁ vadantyuta.
33. dāsyāmi bhavate kanyā iti pūrvam na bhāṣitam ye ca
eva āhuḥ ye ca na āhuḥ ye ca avaśyam vadanti uta
33. iti dāsyāmi bhavate kanyā pūrvam na bhāṣitam.

33. It was not previously stated, 'I will give this maiden to you.' (This applies to the assertions of) those who indeed declare (it), those who do not, and those who speak with certainty (on such matters).
