महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-44, verse-11

ब्राह्मणी तु भवेज्ज्येष्ठा क्षत्रिया क्षत्रियस्य तु ।
रत्यर्थमपि शूद्रा स्यान्नेत्याहुरपरे जनाः ॥११॥
11. brāhmaṇī tu bhavejjyeṣṭhā kṣatriyā kṣatriyasya tu ,
ratyarthamapi śūdrā syānnetyāhurapare janāḥ.
11. brāhmaṇī tu bhavet jyeṣṭhā kṣatriyā kṣatriyasya tu
ratyartham api śūdrā syāt na iti āhuḥ apare janāḥ
11. A brahmin's chief wife should be a brāhmaṇī, and a kṣatriya's chief wife should be a kṣatriyā. Some people say that a śūdra woman may be for sexual pleasure, but others say no.
