महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-104, verse-17

दीर्घकालमपि क्षान्त्वा विहन्यादेव शात्रवान् ।
कालाकाङ्क्षी यामयेच्च यथा विस्रम्भमाप्नुयुः ॥१७॥
17. dīrghakālamapi kṣāntvā vihanyādeva śātravān ,
kālākāṅkṣī yāmayecca yathā visrambhamāpnuyuḥ.

17. Even after enduring for a long time, one should indeed strike down enemies. One should bide their time, waiting for the opportune moment, and delay them so that they become complacent and unsuspecting.
