vāsanaiva mahārāja svarūpaṃ viddhi cetasaḥ ,
cittaśabdastu paryāyo vāsanāyā udāhṛtaḥ 5

Kumbha said: O great king, know that `vāsanā` alone is the true nature (svarūpa) of consciousness (cetas). Indeed, the term `citta` is declared to be a synonym for `vāsanā`.
