शिखिध्वज उवाच ।
हृदयाकाशविहगो हृदयद्रुममर्कटः ।
भूयोभूयो निरस्तं हि समभ्येत्येव मे मनः ॥ २ ॥

भूयोभूयो निरस्तं हि समभ्येत्येव मे मनः ॥ २ ॥
śikhidhvaja uvāca ,
hṛdayākāśavihago hṛdayadrumamarkaṭaḥ ,
bhūyobhūyo nirastaṃ hi samabhyetyeva me manaḥ 2

Śikhidhvaja said: My mind (manas), which is like a bird in the sky of the heart and a monkey on the tree of the heart, indeed returns again and again, even after being repeatedly cast away.
