श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
यथा तिष्ठसि पक्षीन्द्र धारणाभिरखण्डितः ।
कल्पान्तेषु तथा कस्मान्नान्ये तिष्ठन्ति योगिनः ॥ २२ ॥
यथा तिष्ठसि पक्षीन्द्र धारणाभिरखण्डितः ।

yathā tvaṃ dhāraṇābhiḥ akhaṇḍitaḥ tiṣṭhasi,

yathā tvaṃ dhāraṇābhiḥ akhaṇḍitaḥ tiṣṭhasi,
tathā kalpānteṣu anye yoginaḥ kasmāt na tiṣṭhanti?
22.
Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: "O king of birds, just as you remain undisturbed through your steadfast concentrations (dhāraṇā), why do other renunciants (yogin) not similarly endure through the end of cosmic cycles (kalpa)?"
