वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-24, verse-27

नूनं लङ्का हते पापे रावणे राक्षसाधिपे ।
शोषं यास्यति दुर्धर्षा प्रमदा विधवा यथा ॥२७॥
27. nūnaṃ laṅkā hate pāpe rāvaṇe rākṣasādhipe ,
śoṣaṃ yāsyati durdharṣā pramadā vidhavā yathā.

27. Surely, once the wicked Rāvaṇa, the lord of rākṣasas, is slain, Laṅkā, though previously unassailable, will become desolate, just like a woman (pramadā) who has become a widow.
