वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-4, chapter-41, verse-32

तेषां मध्ये स्थितो राजा मेरुरुत्तमपर्वतः ।
आदित्येन प्रसन्नेन शैलो दत्तवरः पुरा ॥३२॥
32. teṣāṃ madhye sthito rājā meruruttamaparvataḥ ,
ādityena prasannena śailo dattavaraḥ purā.

32. Among those mountains, situated in the middle, stands Mount Meru, the king of mountains and the most excellent peak. This mountain was formerly granted a boon by the gracious Sun god (Āditya).
