महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-10, verse-50

अन्यथा चिन्तिता ह्यर्था नरैस्तात मनस्विभिः ।
अन्यथैव हि गच्छन्ति दैवादिति मतिर्मम ॥५०॥

50. anyathā cintitā hyarthā naraistāta manasvibhiḥ ,
anyathaiva hi gacchanti daivāditi matirmama.

50. tāta,
manasvibhiḥ naraiḥ arthāḥ anyathā cintitāḥ hi,

50. My dear father (tāta), indeed, matters are conceived in one way by thoughtful (manasvin) men, but they turn out quite differently due to destiny (daiva) – this is my conviction.
