महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-44, verse-28

पुंस्त्वादभिमदत्वाच्च केचिदत्र महागजाः ।
साश्वारोहान्हयाञ्जघ्नुः करैः सचरणैस्तथा ॥२८॥
28. puṁstvādabhimadatvācca kecidatra mahāgajāḥ ,
sāśvārohānhayāñjaghnuḥ karaiḥ sacaraṇaistathā.

sāśvārohān hayān jaghnuḥ karaiḥ sacaraṇaiḥ tathā

28. And here, some great elephants, due to their strength and fierce rut, struck down horses along with their riders, using both their trunks and their feet.
