महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-10, verse-34

ततः संचिन्त्य भगवान्वरदानं महात्मनः ।
संध्येयं वर्तते रौद्रा न रात्रिर्दिवसं न च ।
वृत्रश्चावश्यवध्योऽयं मम सर्वहरो रिपुः ॥३४॥
34. tataḥ saṁcintya bhagavānvaradānaṁ mahātmanaḥ ,
saṁdhyeyaṁ vartate raudrā na rātrirdivasaṁ na ca ,
vṛtraścāvaśyavadhyo'yaṁ mama sarvaharo ripuḥ.
34. tataḥ saṃcintya bhagavān varadānam
mahātmanaḥ sandhyā iyam vartate raudrā
na rātriḥ divasam na ca vṛtraḥ ca
avaśyavadhyaḥ ayam mama sarvaharo ripuḥ
34. Then the venerable (bhagavān) Indra, having thoroughly considered the boon granted to the great-souled (mahātman) Vṛtra, thought: "This terrible twilight period is neither night nor day. And this Vṛtra, my enemy who has taken everything, must certainly be slain."
