महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-218, verse-44

स्कन्दं चोवाच बलभिदियं कन्या सुरोत्तम ।
अजाते त्वयि निर्दिष्टा तव पत्नी स्वयंभुवा ॥४४॥
44. skandaṁ covāca balabhidiyaṁ kanyā surottama ,
ajāte tvayi nirdiṣṭā tava patnī svayaṁbhuvā.
44. skandam ca uvāca balabhit iyam kanyā surottama
ajāte tvayi nirdiṣṭā tava patnī svayambhuvā
44. And Indra said to Skanda, 'O best among the gods, this maiden was designated by the Self-Existent (Brahmā) as your wife even before your birth.'
