महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-218, verse-32

कुक्कुटश्चाग्निना दत्तस्तस्य केतुरलंकृतः ।
रथे समुच्छ्रितो भाति कालाग्निरिव लोहितः ॥३२॥
32. kukkuṭaścāgninā dattastasya keturalaṁkṛtaḥ ,
rathe samucchrito bhāti kālāgniriva lohitaḥ.
32. kukkuṭaḥ ca agninā dattaḥ tasya ketuḥ alaṃkṛtaḥ
rathe samucchritaḥ bhāti kālāgniḥ iva lohitaḥ
32. And his decorated banner, bearing a cock (kukkuṭa) given by Agni, hoisted high on his chariot, shines, crimson like the destructive fire of time (kālāgni).
