महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-218, verse-22

स्कन्द उवाच ।
दानवानां विनाशाय देवानामर्थसिद्धये ।
गोब्राह्मणस्य त्राणार्थं सेनापत्येऽभिषिञ्च माम् ॥२२॥
22. skanda uvāca ,
dānavānāṁ vināśāya devānāmarthasiddhaye ,
gobrāhmaṇasya trāṇārthaṁ senāpatye'bhiṣiñca mām.

22. Skanda said: "Anoint me as commander-in-chief for the destruction of the dānavas, for the success of the gods' purpose, and for the protection of cows and brāhmaṇas."
