महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-218, verse-30

रुद्रस्य वह्नेः स्वाहायाः षण्णां स्त्रीणां च तेजसा ।
जातः स्कन्दः सुरश्रेष्ठो रुद्रसूनुस्ततोऽभवत् ॥३०॥
30. rudrasya vahneḥ svāhāyāḥ ṣaṇṇāṁ strīṇāṁ ca tejasā ,
jātaḥ skandaḥ suraśreṣṭho rudrasūnustato'bhavat.

30. Skanda, the best among the gods, was born from the essence of Rudra, Agni (Agni), and Svāhā, and also from the essence of the six (Krittika) women. Therefore, he became known as Rudra's son.
