महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-178, verse-21

अत्र चापि नरव्याघ्र मनो जन्तोर्विधीयते ।
तस्माद्युगपदस्यात्र ग्रहणं नोपपद्यते ॥२१॥
21. atra cāpi naravyāghra mano jantorvidhīyate ,
tasmādyugapadasyātra grahaṇaṁ nopapadyate.
21. atra ca api naravyāghra manaḥ jantoḥ vidhīyate
tasmāt yugapat asya atra grahaṇam na upapadyate
21. O tiger among men, it is observed here that the mind operates for the living being (jantu); therefore, its simultaneous apprehension (grahaṇa) of things is not possible in this context.
